Uruguayan-style yerba mate made in Brazil. As is typical for this processing and cutting style, the packaging contains very finely cut leaves with minimal stems and a moderate amount of powder. Akila is characterized by a herbal, grassy aroma with a light smokiness. The infusion itself is creamy, straw-colored, slightly smoky, and tea-like, with a noticeable but mild acidity or astringency on the tongue. The flavor is extremely broad and diverse. As expected from Uruguayan yerba, its effectiveness is above average, providing a significant energy boost. It is recommended to use a Chimarrao-style bombilla with a wide round filter.
